Garmin StreetPilot 2820 – It’s Best Features, In My Opinion

The new Garmin StreetPilot 2820 Automotive GPS is ideal for your car or motorcycle. The 2820 features Bluetooth Technology for Hands Free Calling, a Points of Interest Database that will allow you to upload Custom Points of Interest, MP3 Player that lets you upload all your favorite songs, Real Time Traffic Reports and an Audio Book Player.
One of the best and most exciting features of the StreetPilot 2820 is the Bluetooth Technology.  If you ride a motorcycle you know it is virtually impossible to talk on the phone while riding down the road.  Now all you need is a Bluetooth enabled helmet or headset with a Bluetooth enabled phone and talking on your phone hands free is a snap!  In addition to this, you will also be able to receive your navigation voice prompts through your
headset.

As always, with any product the easier and more convenient to use, the better it is! The StreetPilot 2820 is ready to use right out of the box. City Navigator NT North America comes preloaded so all you have to do is plug it in, input your destination and you are ready to go. With the voice turn-by-turn directions and re-routing capabilities you really don’t even have to look at the GPS screen because it tells you street names, when
to turn and in what direction. If you have a Point of Interest that is not included in Garmins’ huge Database you can enter your own as the StreetPilot 2820 accepts your customized Points of Interest and lets you know when you are getting close to your desired destination.

Another exciting feature of the StreetPilot 2820 provides a solution to getting stuck in traffic. With the optional FM TMC Traffic Receiver or XM Smart Antenna you will be notified of traffic tie-ups, road construction and inclement weather before you get to it with a suggestion of an alternate route. Note that subscriptions are required for these services.

The other features included with the StreetPilot 2820 are an MP3 Player so you can upload you favorite songs, an Audio Book Player and optional XM Radio.  The XM Radio requires a subscription to XM Radio and a GXM Smart Antenna.

The Garmin StreetPilot 2820 has a suggested retail price of $1184.60. Garmin Part Number 010-00517-05.
